Modular

  • A range of flow capacities to suit any process.

  • Our self cleaning filters are often used to replace existing bag filters or screen filters, to reduce the need to periodically open and clean these existing filters.

Applications

Removal of particulate matter from liquid processing flows

This filter removes suspended solids from a liquid flow that are greater than the filtration grade/size. The resultant product has suspended solids removed, with a discharge of the solids portion to waste.

Prefilter for Membrane Filtration

Our filters are often used upstream of a UF or MF plant, to ensure that suspended solids are removed, allowing the membrane filter to act as intended.

Food Processing

Clarification of particulate matter in liquid streams in food production plants to achieve more consistency during processing.

Viscous Products

Filtration of viscous products (syrups, chocolate, honey).

Beer Clarification

Removal of residual hop debris or husks, and for the clarification of beer prior to a finer filtration step such as UF.

Technical Details

Mode of operation:

The feed flow enters a cylindrical filtration chamber, where particulate matter is deposited on the surface of the filter media.

Rotating scrapers remove the particulates, transferring them to a discharge chamber.

The self cleaning and discharge mechanism is automated, therefore not adding to the workload of plant operators

The Spiroclean filter is a compact unit, and is an easy addition in line to existing plant.

Flowrates

Up to 100 m3/hr with a single filter. Higher flowrates use multiple filters in parallel.

Degree of filtration

From 50 microns up to 2000 microns

Filter media

AISI316 stainless steel

Smaller apertures are laser micro-perforated

Filtration area

Spiroclean 20: 2000 cm2

Spiroclean 30: 3000 cm2

Standards

The product complies with Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food (MOCA). This recognition confirms the product’s compliance with European food safety regulations.

Spiroclean filters are designed in accordance with EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering Design Group) hygienic design standards.
